Diet: potatoes and fat
“The potato does not contain fat.”
This sentence most will agree and are not entirely wrong. On the contrary, we can eat simple jacket potatoes quite safely even during a diet. With only 0.3 grams of fat per serving (200 grams), they provide us above all with satiating carbohydrates!
But unfortunately, not only potatoes usually end up on our plate!
On our plate usually ends up, unfortunately, not only the “pure” jacket potato, but much more the processed product of the potato. This in turn can quickly become a fat and diet trap!
Mashed potatoes, for example, contain 3 grams of fat per 200 grams. That is ten times more fat than in the case of the jacket potato. With fried potatoes, however, the whole thing is much worse. These contain 53 times more fat, French fries even 80 times more!
With a diet for this reason increased caution is required, because potato is not equal potato!
On the next page we tell you what you should pay attention to:
Again and again you hear about the so-called potato diet. During this diet you eat mainly potatoes. Fried potatoes, mashed potatoes and jacket potatoes are allowed. Over the day may be consumed 600 grams of it. Fruit, salad, lean poultry and fish are allowed as side dishes.
By combining them with low-fat foods, our body is not supplied with unnecessary fats during the diet.
Crucially, potatoes contain a lot of potassium! Potassium increases the activity of our kidneys and thus promotes purification and drainage. Due to the loss of water, you lose weight quickly, especially at the beginning of the diet.
